I really like Nichol. Every time I'm in a bookstore I search in vain for one of his books. I know I should just break down and order it from Amazon, but I don't want to :) I don't like ordering things online.

Have you ever read any work by d.a. levy? I suggest you check him out; he's not quite so experimental as you in the way he puts words/fragments across the page, but his voice is very similar to this...especially your last stanza. That assertiveness, that slightly-hesitant but still certain voice.
